Added a new, amazing photo of Jackson today to the gallery. From the same set as the AP Magazine image. Edit: A second one has been found, thanks to Ifelthope!
Thanks to Mediocrechick on livejournal, we have some scans from the Twilight feature in US Weekly. The article focuses more on Rob, Kristen and Taylor, but there are also some pages featuring Jackson. I’ve uploaded them to the gallery.
Also, another article and two photo from the Pushcart Press event held at Wordtheatre on the 27th. If you attended the event, please send us your photos at jacksonrathbone(@)gmail.com!
Guild Hall gets a taste of Twilight
“Twilight” mania took a bite out of East Hampton this weekend when two of its highly sought-after stars, Jackson Rathbone and Edi Gathegi, performed at WordTheatre’s Pushcart Prize Benefit at Guild Hall on Saturday.
Gathegi said “This is my first real time” being in the Hamptons. Though, he does admit he stopped by for “a hot minute” on New Year’s Eve in 2004, but doesn’t count it as a real Hamptons experience. “It’s gorgeous here! I love it!” said Gathegi.
His co-star and fellow vampire Rathbone drove five and a half hours from Philadelphia, where he is filming “The Last Airbender,” the highly anticipated M. Night Shyamalan action/fantasy film based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in order to read one of the Pushcart Prize winning stories.
Rathbone provided the after-party’s entertainment by performing a six-song set with his 100 Monkeys bandmate, Ben Graupner. Rathbone joked during the intimate performance that they were “down three monkeys”. The fan girls didn’t seem to mind as they took pictures and video of his performance.
Ania Perrin, a teenage “Twilight” fan, said she made her mother buy two $100 tickets for the event just to see Rathbone because “he’s just like really hot. And he’s a good actor.” read the full article here
I recently stumbled across these images from the Los Angeles premiere of Twilight back on the 17th of November that we didn’t have in the gallery. I haven’t seen these photos before, so perhaps they’re new to you, too!
Along with New Moon co-star, Edi Gathegi, Jackson attended the Pushcart Press event at the Wordtheatre on the 27th. Three photos of the event have surfaced thanks to Backseat Cuddler! The event brings together stars of stage and screen to read prize winning stories.
The official website for The Last Airbender is now live. At the moment there are only a few IM icons and wallpapers, and nothing of Jackson just yet, but you can also register for updates!
Along with the official site comes the official facebook page; which I’m sure will serve as a great source for all the latest images, news and videos.
Jackson Rathbone is a triple threat. An amazing actor, singer, and writer. Women can only imagine what Jackson might be looking for in a woman. Some might think that any woman he might take a second look at would have to be drop dead gorgeous. Wrong. Jackson opens up about his favorite features about women, dating advice, and how to seal the deal for a second date with him!
Gabrielle: What are qualities you look for in women?
Jackson: I look for a woman with a sincere smile and a love of the arts. I love being able to go out on crazy dates, like breaking into zoos after hours, so a woman who has a sense of adventure… but I also love a calm night of jamming on a beach at midnight with a bonfire, whiskey, and friends… so a woman who can hang in any situation and not get too clingy if I’m playing some music and spending time with my friends and family.
GC: In your opinion, what do men really notice about women?
JR: The way she carries herself. Many times, my friends and I will notice a girl who is beautiful, but just looks miserable in her demeanor. It’s a turn-off. Life’s too short.
GC: What is your ideal first date?
JR: Well, I live with the band I’m in, 100 Monkeys (100monkeysmusic.com), so I like to take a girl out to dinner alone, go for a walk and chat, and then come back to our “Monkey House” to see if she can hang with my friends/bandmates. If she’s cool to jam some tunes with us, shoot nerf guns at my bandmates’ heads, or at least not get offended when I pick up a guitar… then I know there’ll be a second date.
GC: What is a total deal-breaker?
JR: If a girl is involved with another guy. I don’t believe in the ideology of “if it’s a different area code, it’s not cheating,” I think that’s more of an “idiot-ology.” Too many times I’ve been hit on by a woman with a ring (engagement and/or wedding), and it disgusts me, to be frank. Even if a woman has a boyfriend she is about to break up with… to me, it’s wrong. I won’t even consider flirting with a woman unless she is completely single.
GC: What is your favorite feature about women?
JR: Everything. I am a lover, not a fighter. I don’t fuss over the fine points, I just love it all.
Thought you might be interested in seeing the first teaser trailer for The Last Airbender! No footage of Jackson other than his name in the end credits, but it’s still worth a shot if you’re interested to see what type of film this is going to be, or if you’re a fan of the show already!
Another article on Jackson’s upcoming film, Girlfriend!
Twilighters who find themselves on Team Jasper probably have only one complaint when it comes to Stephenie Meyer’s franchise: They want more of the peaceful-one-minute, violent-the-next vampire who attacks Bella and sets the “New Moon” plot into motion.
The actor behind Jasper Hale, is set to remedy that grievance with “Girlfriend,” a romantic drama that will find the actor leaving the world of vampires behind but continuing to play a character that viewers will find both trustworthy and potentially dangerous.
” ‘Girlfriend’ is the chance to see Jackson front and center as the kind of character where, at any moment, we’re not sure if there’s the potentiality to cause harm or to be a good guy, but in a more gritty, realistic indie film,” writer/director Justin Lerner said in a recent conversation with MTV News.
Lerner, who will be making his feature-film debut, describes “Girlfriend” as a “harsh, modern-day take on the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ fable.” That’s not to say we’ll see Rathbone as a hirsute monster, nor that the film has any Disney-esque aspirations. Rather, the movie is a real-world story set in Middle America that will bring Rathbone into a “very bizarre and unconventional love triangle,” Lerner said.
Lerner also pointed out that the indie flick will give Rathbone an opportunity “to do things he hasn’t done in a film before — really push himself into emotionally difficult places.”
“Jackson’s going to play a morally complex character,” Lerner said, “a charming and dangerous lead, jealous and diabolical, where you’re not going to know if you love him or hate him. That kind of complexity will be interesting for him to tackle. It’s going to be a very dark and offbeat performance.”
Here’s another new article for you to read. This time, focusing more on Jackson’s upcoming film Girlfriend, which he’s producing and acting in!
I’m certain there are, oh, an army’s worth of “Twilight” fans out there who’d do almost anything to become Cullen vampire Jackson Rathbone’s girlfriend. Alas, that’s probably not going to happen any time soon. But Jasper Cullen devotees most certainly will have a shot to see Jackson in a film called “Girlfriend” in the future, as the Texas-born actor revealed to MTV News during a recent conversation.
“I’m actually producing my first film this year called ‘Girlfriend,’” he says. “New director Justin Lerner kind of made a splash at a couple festivals last year with a short film he did.”
While the 24-year-old didn’t kick us any details about the film’s plot or potential cast, he did talk enthusiastically about the chance both to produce and act in “Girlfriend.” “It’s an exciting time,” he said. “I get to play a part in it and have a little bit more say behind the scenes, behind the camera, which is really interesting. It’s what I’ve always really wanted to get into. I love film. I love the art behind it.”
